Tinker LLC Manager
A paperwork manager for the one-person LLC—compliance, customers, jobs, invoices, and receipts when you're the owner and the only employee. From Tech & Tinker Consulting.
Direct download from this site is free. Mac App Store and Microsoft Store editions will be a small fee.
Not downloading? Form a North Carolina LLC in your browser—same steps, official links.
What it is
One operator. One stack of paperwork. No team software.
Tinker LLC Manager is built for a sole owner / sole employee single-member LLC—the person who does the jobs and the filings. It is not for teams, staff logins, or payroll.
Keep formation steps, compliance deadlines, customers, job paperwork, receipts, and a simple owner-tax planner in one place. You still file on official government sites; the app tracks what to do and when.
Available for Mac and Windows. Download here at no charge, or get it from the Mac App Store or Microsoft Store for a small fee—those listings cost money to maintain.
Not legal or tax advice.
Features
What one person has to remember.
Paperwork, not payroll
Built for a single-member LLC with one operator—you. No staff accounts, no team seats, no payroll module. Just the filings and customer paperwork one person has to keep straight.
Compliance checklist
Annual and quarterly filings with due dates and official SOSNC, NCDOR, and IRS links—or browse the same recurring deadlines on the web without installing.
Setup walkthrough
Forming the LLC? Step through name search, Articles, EIN, banking, insurance, and first-year deadlines in plain language—or use the same checklist on the web without installing.
Customers, jobs & documents
Track the work, then send the paperwork: estimates, invoices, agreements, change orders, W-9 requests, and in-app signatures.
Receipts & owner finances
Capture receipts, log mileage, and use a simple owner set-aside planner for self-employment and quarterly estimates—planning only, not tax advice.
Your records, your choice
Keep data on your computer, export backups when you need them, and sync through your own iCloud or OneDrive folder when you want the same files on another device.

Direct Mac and Windows installers from this site are free. The Mac App Store and Microsoft Store versions will cost a small fee so the listing and update costs aren't entirely on me. Same app either way.
Help
Found a bug?
Send a short report from the support page. Leave customer and business details out — only enough to reproduce the issue.
Privacy
How Tinker LLC Manager handles your data
Local-first for a sole owner / sole employee LLC. Your business records stay on your device—there is no Tech & Tinker cloud account, no advertising SDK, and we do not sell your data.
Your business records stay local
Customers, jobs, invoices, receipts, documents, filings, and signatures live in an application data folder on the device that runs the app. We do not host that content and cannot read it. Exports, backups, and anything you put in a synced folder are yours to manage.
Sync is your cloud, if you use it
If you keep the app folder in iCloud Drive, OneDrive, or a similar service you choose, that sync is between you and that provider—not a Tech & Tinker account. Their privacy terms apply to that transfer.
Network features are off by default
Address lookup, mileage routing, and tax-rate refresh start off in Settings → Network & privacy and only run when you turn them on and use them. A master offline switch can pause all three. Core bookkeeping, invoicing, PDFs, and compliance tracking still work offline.
Address lookup and driving miles
When address autocomplete or geocoding is enabled, the text you type is sent to Tech & Tinker’s self-hosted Nominatim-compatible geocoder (OpenStreetMap data)—not the public nominatim.openstreetmap.org demo. When driving-miles routing is enabled, coordinates only (no address text) go to our self-hosted OSRM-compatible router. Results you save stay in your local data. As with any internet request, the operator of that service sees your IP; those lookups are not a copy of your full LLC books.
Tax-rate refresh, updates, and email
Optional tax-rate refresh (when enabled) fetches public pages from NCDOR and SSA and caches them locally. Direct-download builds may check a Tech & Tinker update feed for app version and platform metadata (not App Store / Microsoft Store builds). If you email a document through the app, it goes through the SMTP server you configure—recipient, subject, message, and the PDF you chose.
Optional diagnostics (opt-in)
Diagnostics in Settings → Privacy & diagnostics start off. If you turn them on, the app may send allowlisted events to our telemetry receiver over HTTPS—such as a resettable install id, app version/platform, named usage events, and scrubbed crash frames when crash reporting is on. Diagnostics never include names, emails, EIN/SOSID, street addresses, customer or job content, file paths, or passwords. Retention is 90 days.
Bug reports you choose to send
If you submit a bug report from the app or the support page, we receive what you include (typically email and a short description). Leave customer names and business details out.
Store purchases
Mac App Store and Microsoft Store purchases and billing are handled by Apple or Microsoft under their terms—not by Tech & Tinker Consulting LLC.
Website browsing, contact forms, and Cloudflare are covered on the sitewide Privacy page. The full in-app policy lives under Settings in the product. Questions: [email protected].
